Frequently
Asked Questions
These
are common questions regarding both the Steril-Zone Room Air Purifier and the
SteriLight Whole House Air Purification System. Click a question to view the answer.
How
do SteriLight and Steril-Zone differ?
SteriLight
is an installed whole house UVC air purifier system. Steril-Zone is a portable
room air purifier for rooms up to 1000 sq ft that combines the same UVC technology
with two additional air cleaning stages for particulate and VOC control.
Can
I use both products?
Definitely!
SteriLight delivers cleaner air to your entire home, while a Steril-Zone air purifier
may be used to provide supplemental protection where needed, e.g., a nursery,
or bedroom of a family member with allergy or asthma problems.
Should I be worried about ozone?
Not with our products. Steril-Zone and SteriLight do not produce ozone.
Other products may, so be aware. The health hazards associated with ozone
are well-documented and may include coughing, throat irritation, wheezing,
lung damage, and aggravation of asthma and other respiratory ailments. The
American Lung Association states that "exposure to ozone causes a variety of
adverse health effects, even at levels below the current standard".
Is
UVC technology proven?
Absolutely!
Steril-Aire UVC products have been installed in buildings all over the U.S. and
worldwide - including hospitals, schools, offices, public buildings, food processing
plants, electric utilities and residences. View the Case Studies section of the
Steril-Aire website for details.
